Super Mario On TV

Everyone would have heard of the super famous DOS game, (if not played) Super Mario. When I was a kid, I used to love the game so much that I used to go 6-7 hours in a day on that single game, sometimes myself, sometimes with my brother and sometime with my cousins.

Just yesterday, when I was watching a show “India’s Got Talent”, a group of guys and girls re-enacted the whole game sequence. Simply Mindblowing!!! So Simple Yet Completely Brilliant Concept. Not to mention its Brilliant Execution, Brilliant Acting etc etc.

I guess so that is why, A lot of people give emphasis on the KISS (Keep it simple and stupid) concept. What say?

BTW, here is a video of the same performance. The video is not of a great quality but is worth checking out.

Love Aaj Kal – Music Review

After the superhit album “Jab We Met”, I was eagerly awaiting the music of ”Love Aaj Kal”. And Does it live upto my expections ? Hmmm, Ya Completely. According to me, Imitiaz and Gang have pulled up another chartbuster in “Love Aaj Kal”. The album has 10 soundtracks of which I am sure atleast 2 of the tracks are sure Chartbusters.

The Album kicks off with “Twist” sung by Neeraj Sridhar. The song starts off with the snake charmer tune taken off from the song “Tann Dole” from the old film Naagin and then gets a modern feel as the song proceeds. In total, a very peppy number.

Next comes “Chor Baazari” sung by Neeraj Shridhar and Sunidhi Chauhan which has to be simply the best song in the whole album, according to me. It has everything in right place, the song, the music, the lyrics and the vocals. Looking forward to see how this song is going to be picturized on Saif and Deepika.

“Aahun Aahun” is also an interesting song at the start but somehow it starts losing steam towards the end of the song and fails to capitalize on its brilliant start.

“Main Kya Hoon“, “Thoda Thoda Pyaar“, “Ajj Din Chadheya“, “Dooriyan” are the remaining songs which are pretty good as well but not great.

Overall, a pretty good album to listen but only in parts.

Top Tracks: Chor Bazaari, Twist.

2012 Trailer Out

This trailer simply blew my mind out outright. So, another movie added to the list of “Must See Movies” i.e. 2012. It is releasing in November 2009.

Ya I know, its still long time before the film releases, but if the film is anything like the trailer, then it is definitely worth the wait.

Recently when I was browsing various podcasts on my iPod Touch, I stumbled upon College Humour Videos. And I must say they are simply an amazing collection of podcasts. I particularly liked the video below where they have portrayed as to what would have happened if Matrix would have run on Windows. Interesting? Ain’t it? Well the video is much more interesting

They have incorporated almost all the typical Windows Errors in the Matrix Story. Do check them out.

I’m Back Finally!!!

Finally I am back and was able to post here after a really long time, Hopefully for good.

I had been feeling so guilty for months now that I was not able to update this blog, but I could not help. All thanks to twitter and work.

So what’s new in last 5-6 months?

Well for starters,

I have started working now (Actually from past 6 months) @Capgemini as an Associate Consultant which takes up all my time now, though I am not complaining coz I have got atleast a job and a project in these times of Recession

I have also started twittering a lot now, which is also one of the main reasons I had stopped updating this blog. Somehow I had lost the patience to write long personal posts, put down my thoughts here and found 140 or lesser characters posts very easy to manage

And on the weekends, I have been attending a lot of conferences and tweetups. Yahoo Hack Day, Google Conference, Bangalore Barcamp 8 to name a few.

And on the Gadgets Front, I bought a new Lenovo Netbook, a 16GB 1G iPod Touch ( Image Credit to @Mixdev) and also I was finally able to ditch my N70 to buy a new Nokia 5800.

And Ya Finally, Since I am self confessed movie buff, I have been watching all the new Hindi and Kannada movies in my spare time.

So how have you guys been?

Yuvraaj – A Review

After many days, I finally caught up with the movie Yuvraaj. I had heard many mixed reviews about it and wanted to see it. Also I was in love with its songs. All the more reason to watch the movie.

It started with my favourite song “Tu hi to mera dost” and I was simply hooked on to the movie. But once the song ended, the real movie started, if I may so. Even after the end credits rolled up, I was looking for the story of movie, because the movie seriously lacked one. The songs are the only respite you can get while you are watching the movie.

Mr Salman Khan, I know you can’t act but atleast don’t make faces throughout the movie and Mr. Subhash Ghai, why did you waste talents like Boman Irani, Katrina Kaif and more importantly, my time.

Katrina Kaif is the only actor who stands out in the whole movie, with a superlative performance.

The songs are simply mindblowing especially “Tu hi to mera dost” and “Shano Shano”. Mr AR Rehman, Kudos to you!!!

Conclusion: Watch this movie for Katrina’s Performance and the mindblowing songs only. Mr Subhash Ghai, with your talent, I seriously wish you come up with a better movie next time.
